Message from the President
Our industry has been shaken by the unprecedented changes in society brought about by the falling birthrate in Japan, but we find ourselves filled with energy and optimism. We are looking forward to what tomorrow will bring. Many societal changes that are normally viewed negatively - the dropping birthrate, the economic recession and relaxed testing regulations - have become new sources of inspiration for us.
What does the future hold for Chuman Gakuin and its group companies? Until recently our industry has grown only within the confines of the exam preparation market. Exam preparation services will continue to be important in the future. However, if we broaden our viewpoint a little, we can see that our next challenge will arise from the basic educational goal of "forming people". It is the importance of this goal, which incites our passion to expand our organization.
As long as we ensure that each individual who makes up our organization continues to grow, while respecting universal and timeless truths, our company will continue to prosper, no matter how the times may change.

At Edvec, we believe that learning a foreign language provides important cognitive and academic benefits to learners, as well as significant benefits to society as a whole. Research shows that students in foreign language programs demonstrate greater cognitive development, creativity and problem-solving abilities than monolingual students. Studies also show that learning another language improves the academic abilities of students in mathematics as well as in their native language. Furthermore, people who can communicate in more than two languages are an asset to the societies in which they live and work, contributing to economic development and global understanding. In addition to the benefits described above, we also believe that students who learn a foreign language have a greater ability to understand themselves and the world around them. Foreign language learning is an essential part of any educational program and the opportunity to learn a foreign language should not be denied to any student.
In order to further foreign language study, Edvec strives to produce the highest quality educational materials possible. While recognizing that learning is an organic process that takes place between people, we believe that appropriate educational materials can facilitate the language learning process. In particular, we strive to produce materials that:
In conclusion, we, at Edvec, believe that foreign language study is an essential component of any educational program and are proud to offer our materials to all members of the educational community. On the other hand, we recognize that no educational material is perfect and that all materials must evolve to meet changes in learner needs and the educational environment. We realize that our work is never done and we promise to strive unceasingly to produce the highest quality educational materials possible. |
